Purely charitable and wholly free Guoliang Occupational Training School
Origin of the school
Guoliang Professional Training School is a wholly free charitable school set by the donation of the chairman of the board of Country Garden Mr. YEUNG Kwok Keung. The origin and destination of his establishing the school are as follows:
This is a wholly free school for the diligent retired soldiers from poor family in impoverished middle and west China
After 2 or 3 years of military service, the soldiers from rural poor family lack the skills needed in the society when they retired. They are not college students and haven’t received any professional training. Due to the difficulties to find a job, many of them return to the rural area to become peasants and also get back to poverty. After the reform and open policy, our country has made great efforts to develop the socialist market economy, private enterprises emerged and more and more job opportunities become available. The retired soldier can find the desired job as long as they have the expertise.
Armymen have contributed to the security of our country. They have dedicated a lot to our country. If they have to get back to countryside to live poor life because of the lack of skills, I’ll feel very sad, so I sponsored to build the free professional training school for retired soldiers help them master skills, find employment and realize a good income which will bring hope to their families. Such trainings not only increases the income of the retired armymen but also are good to the construction of the army and the protection of our country, and will create a win-win situation which is good to the nation, the people and the military force.
I hope the retired soldiers will find a good job and live a happy life through their diligence and skills after the professional training. If they are qualified after the free training and willing to stay at Country Garden, they can choose to take the job opportunities here. We can provide appropriate positions and salaries according to the enterprise management in the market economy. If they can find jobs elsewhere, as long as the jobs are good and lives are happy, my destination of the operation of the school is fulfilled.
To realize the wish cherished for many years and to undertake the responsibility of entrepreneur, Mr. Yeung Kwok Keung has donated more than RMB 55 million to establish the Guoliang Professional Training School. We hope the school can help the retired soldiers to get rid of poverty which will be the greatest destination and honor of the school.
